作品が共鳴するその状況を、 軽やかにすくいあげる。
出展作品のひとつであるローレンス・ウェイナーの「SKIMMING THE WATER [MÉNAGE À QUATRE] 」は、2010年1月26日、オランダ・アムステルダムにあるウェイナーのハウスボート「Joma」で、3人の女性とともに24時間過ごす記録から成り立ちます。
当時の場面（3人の訪問者、ハウスボート、水）が示す状況から着想を得て、サイモン・パターソンやジェニー・ホルツァー、ヨーゼフ・ボイスなど、「文字」との関係性が強い作品を、通常の読み解きとは少し違った視点で眺める展覧会を企画します。現代美術ではしばしば「文字」が作品の主要な構成要素として扱われますが、本展覧会では、個々の作品のコンセプトを超えて、文字から連想される意味が空間で共鳴しあう、感覚的でユーモアのある展示を試みます。

‘Skimming the situation that artworks resonate with each other.’
One of the exhibits ‘SKIMMING THE WATER [MÉNAGE À QUATRE]’ by Lawrence Weiner was created from the record for 24 hours on 26thJanuary in 2010 when the artist spent together with three women at his houseboat ‘Joma’ in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Inspired by the situation made by the scenes at that time (three visitors, houseboat and water), this exhibition features artworks strongly related with ‘text’ including Simon Patterson, Jenny Holzer and Joseph Beuys interpreted from unique perspective. ‘Text’ is often considered to be one of the most important elements composing contemporary artworks. This exhibition aims to create the space where various meanings of artworks associated with ‘texts’ resonate together with a sense of humor beyond the concepts of individual works.
